PLANT PROFILE

This is a real break through for the species as most Dianella tasmanica varieties are grey/green in foliage colour. D. ‘Splice’ has performed well in pot culture and has remained stable throughout many generations.

Ideal for use in those hot spots or containers as very little water or maintenance is required once established. Offers architectural, arching foliage which makes a great native alternative to New Zealand Flax (Phormiums).

One of the most drought tolerant, adaptable Australian native plants available which suits both commercial and residential landscaping uses.

'Splice' tolerates difficult sites such as reflected heat from hard surfaces such as paving, concrete or ashphalt. Resiliant against wind and salt in coastal regions. Hardy for poolside landscaping.

CULTURAL CARE

Dry tolerant although regular watering should be given during dry periods in first year to establish a healthy root system. The clumps will then become mostly self reliant requiring little attention.
