Plants Management Australia Pty Ltd (PMA) has been recognised amongst Australia's most innovative organisations, having being announced as the Winner of the 2011 Australian Business Award for Best New Product.

PMA's launched Daphne 'Eternal Fragrance' in Australia recently and it has quickly been celebrated as one of the most exciting new products in the nation, offering a key point of difference from its competitors.

Daphne 'Eternal Fragrance' was developed by renowned UK nurseryman Robin White. Devoting his life to plant breeding, White said " The reason I did the breeding was to improve on the existing varieties on the market." This White certainly managed, with 'Eternal Fragrance' now in demand around the world. Typically Daphne's require a sheltered site, a position dappled sun, soil that is evenly moist and at the right pH level. 'Eternal Fragrance' is a breakthrough in Daphne breeding, doing away with all the traditional hurdles. This variety flourishes in full sun, is both dry and frost tolerant and even repeat flowers throughout the year. The unique Daphne fragrance can be enjoyed not just during spring, but over many months.

Commenting on the win, Managing Director Chris Sargent said "There are not many plants that tick all the boxes, but this one certainly does. It is an outstanding variety." PMA recognised the potential of 'Eternal Fragrance' for the Australian market and has invested over 8 years trialling it around the country and managing the complete commercialisation process. " We are just thrilled for the breeder" Sargent said "It's a once in a lifetime variety and PMA feel privileged to have been entrusted with the product development in Australia."

Plants Management Australia is a leading horticultural marketing and licensing company responsible for the introduction of many new garden plants to the Australian market each year. "It's fantastic to have a plant recognised in these leading business awards, a real positive for the innovative work plant breeders undertake with little public recognition" said Sargent.
